Darkness to light:
Healing the Scapegoat Wound

Join a transformative workshop utilising visualisation, art, and ritual to overcome guilt, find forgiveness, and reclaim your true essence.

Saturday & Sunday, 2-3 November, 10am-5pm
Violet Hill Studios, London

Have you ever been unfairly blamed, punished, or exiled for being different?

Scapegoating is a psychological and social phenomenon where an individual or group is unfairly blamed for the problems or misfortunes of others. Rooted in deep family dynamics and societal pressures, the scapegoat is often made to carry the burden of others’ unresolved pain and conflicts. Whether in family systems, workplaces, or even broader societal contexts, scapegoating serves as a mechanism for avoiding responsibility and deflecting deeper truths.

The scapegoat wound

If you’ve been scapegoated, you’ve likely been burdened with the negative emotions of others, unfairly blamed for problems that were never yours to begin with.

Over time, this pattern can deeply impact you, leading to feelings of isolation, self-doubt, and difficulty expressing anger or asserting yourself. You might find it hard to know who you truly are or to embrace your unique gifts.

In many cases, the scapegoat wound continues to fester, manifesting either as a repetition of being scapegoated or, sometimes, turning into the very role of scapegoater, perpetuating the cycle of blame and abuse.

In this workshop, we will use ritual and art therapy to begin transforming the scapegoat wound into a gift.

Through these embodied, creative practices, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with yourself deeply and safely. This process of discovery aims to help you reclaim your authentic self and begin to transform the pain into something valuable–not just for yourself, but also for the collective.

This workshop is for you if you seek

• A clearer understanding of the scapegoat complex and its impact on your life.

• Greater self-acceptance and forgiveness of your shadow aspects.

• A safe space to reclaim your unique gift and your role as a potential healer within the collective.
