Fairy Tales as Dreams: The Water of Life

The Water of Life

A tale of healing

Join me for an interactive workshop where we will explore the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “The Water of Life” through an archetypal lens. By treating it as a dream, we will look at themes related to masculine initiation and healing, relating it to personal themes from waking life. We will cover:

  • the theme of the dying king;

  • the three brothers;

  • the trial as a hero’s journey;

  • the princess as anima figure;

  • the water of life and spiritual renewal;

  • the theme of redemption.

Preparing for the class:

This is a short tale. I recommend that you read or listen to the fairy tale ahead of this workshop.

You do not need to read any interpretations of the fairy tale beforehand and I recommend that you don’t, so that you approach it from an experiential, intuitive perspective, rather than an intellectual one. Resources will be provided after.

How to participate

Please note that there are only 5 spaces available for this class, in order to ensure that everyone can share and ask questions.

Please note that there are no recordings available for this session. If you aren’t available for the live session and want a recording, please sign up for Dreamwork Circle on the Alchemist tier (cancel anytime) and you will get access to all previous class recordings for your month of membership.
